A clear golden beer with a white head. Aroma of belgian yeast, pale malt, hay. Taste of yellow fruits, belgian yeast, pale malt, nothing special.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg.
Hazy golden with a white head. Malty candy sugar aroma with noble hops. Sweet taste with a medium bitter finish. A bit more exciting than the standard Belgian blondes. Very nice beer.

Another one in this commercially successful Koperen Markies series, from a 37.5 cl bottle shared with my girlfriend. Pillowy, egg-white, cobweb-lacing, thick and stable head over a hazy orangey peach blonde beer with vague brownish tinge - often a sign of oxidation. Very herbal aroma, coriander, allspice, old ginger, star anise, dried peach, soggy peanuts, old crackers, cooked turnip, paprika crisps, clove, dried orange peel, something meaty, mud and an echo of DMS (overcooked broccoli). Fruity onset, sweetish with notes of peach, pear and light banana, softish carb; full body, 'fluffy' with lots of bready yeastiness over a bread-crusty and lightly caramelled maltiness. Before long, this strong herbaceousness sets in, bringing back the ginger, allspice and coriander at full force, like some Asian soup - which can of course be utterly delicious, but here it brings things completely out of balance, and frankly give it an 'old' and somewhat astringent quality. Some floral hops bring gentle bitterness and the alcohol remains relatively well hidden, but slight notes of oxidation, (too) strong clove-like phenols and retronasal DMS of course do little to make me overcome that spiciness. Feels crude and 'untidy', overly yeasty and unbalanced - clearly this is not the best in this series, which can be mildly satisfying at times (if you are into classically designed Belgian ales, mind you).

37,5cl bottle from Carrefour Market Cours St. Michel in Brussels. F: medium, white, good retention. C: gold, light hazy. A: fruity, peach, coriander, banana, apples, bit caramel. T: full malty base, mellow fruity, banana, coriander, spicy, red apples peels, decent bitterness, medium carbonation, very “cliché” for the style, enjoyed.

Thank you for sharing Erwin! 375 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG17. Golden orange, white head. Nose is bland dull citrus, coriander, taste is same hollow esters, citrus coriander. Lively bodied. Not that bad but so unnecessary.

Clear blond beer, big creamy irregular solid white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: peaches, fruity, bit sweet, yeasty, spicy, coriander. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: yeasty, little sourish, sugary, coriander, sweet, lots of orange peel, pretty alcoholic impression. Aftertaste: yeast, slightly fruity, sourish touch, little bitter.
