Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 4/20/14
Aroma: The aroma is clean and lightly smokey, wood, bready and sweet malts
Appearance: Pours a reddish-orange color with a clean, frothy beige head and spotty lace
Flavor: The flavor is light sweet malts and light smoke, it feels just a hint thin flavor-wise
Palate: This one has a smooth, creamy feel, soft carbonation, and a fairly short finish
Overall Impression: This is an alright beer. It has a decent smoke presence, but it is a little thin on the mouth. The cherry isn't all that noticeable. This one drinks solidly and it isn't offensive or anything. It does have a nice pour and a pretty good mouthfeel. It just doesn't quite get there from a flavor/smoke perspective.

Draft @ 17th Street Murphysboro. Pours a very light amber with about a finger of off-white head. Aroma is mostly caramel and bready malt with a little bit of smokey oak. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Mostly caramel and bread. I think I can taste the smoke but I’m not sure, it could just be my imagination. Medium bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Lively carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, not bad. I was hoping to get a little more smoke but in all reality, that probably wouldn’t work for the BMC crowds. This probably makes a pretty good transitional beer.
