Location: Draft at the brewpub, 3/3/14, as Forty-Niner Gold Lager

Aroma: The aroma is light crystal malts, some grain, sweet malt, and hop notes as well
Appearance: This beer pours a clear golden color with a small, fizzy white head
Flavor: Light and clean, some fine, but not overwhelming sweetness, and a light bitterness
Palate: The body is light, with a decent enough feel, and a clean dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a solid enough example of the style. It isn't a super exciting beer, but it has some flavor and it has a nice, clean, hop finish to it that makes it easily an above average example of this style.

On tap at the brewpub. A clear golden one with a small white head. Pale malts and hay on the rather weak and boring nose. Dry on the palate, pleasantly carbonated, with biscuits, pale malts and some grass and bitterness. Short finish. Quenching and boring. 130818

Tap as part of seven dwarves flight. Pours golden with fluffy white head. Not much aromas to speak of. Tastes of hay, regular grass, citrus, vanilla, and hops. Pretty boring gold lager billed as 49er on menu fyi

Bottled. A golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of fruit, and so is the flavor, leading to a dry bitter finish. The body is a bit thin. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.
