Ever so slight cherry aroma. Creamy head, brew looks like a rose wine. Reddich pink. Good carbonation greets the palate. Very little bitter bite on the initial taste. At first you can’t tste the cherries, but after the first sip the mild fruity taste begins to manifest itself on the taste buds. Friendly and easy to enjoy. Above average for a fruit beer. Finish is easy going and well mannered. Nice session brew. Not bad, I kinda enjoyed this.

Bottle. Surprisingly, cherries are hard to pick up in the nose. Maybe a touch of a tart character, but that’s all I’m picking up. Body is kind of a reddish gold; head was pretty big for a short while... a lovely pinkish color. Not great after that... flavor is bitter, tart and vinegary all at once. Apart from the disappointment left behind by the cherry experiment gone wrong, there is little left to be had. The underlying malt structure is weak at best, the hops is no there other than a bit of a grassy note.

***Re-rated 10/22/2007*** Not picking up the vinegar and other foul notes. Still tart and cherry dominated, but much better than the last bottle. Wouldn’t mortgage the house to keep this in stock, but serviceable.

Amber ale with a thin white head. Light sour cherry jam in aroma, with malt base. Rather malty in mouth, with tart cherry noites, byut very light and watery. Boring. Mondial 2005.

Nice red color with lots of carbonation. You can smell and taste the cherry because you know to expect it from the bottle. In a blind tasting I would not call this a fruit beer, and it might be the first disappointment from this brewery that makes beers I otherwise enjoy. Fairly smooth, a little wheat in the flavor.

2004 bottle compliments of Footbalm. Pours a ruddy auburn with some deeper brownish-yellow tinges and a beige head. Aroma of lightly tart cherries, some pungent yeast notes, hint of balsamic vinegar, and some dusty old hops notes. Flavor is very dry to begin, with a small dose of tart cherries. You can tell right away that the brewers took care not to go overboard with this one. Virtually no sweetness to it, with plenty of crisp, lightly sour lager yeast. Medium-light body, thinning on the end. Overall, a well-made, balanced fruit beer, but it suffers from the heavy filtration, seems a little bit lifeless. If the yeast was left in the bottle, this might truly be a very complex beer. As it is now, it is a crisp, clean lager with a firm tart cherry base.

Pours clear copper-red with a thin off-white head. Light musty, earthy aroma which hints at cherries but doesn’t have any tart, sweet character. The body is watery and the flavor is rather weak, although the cherries lend an earthy tartness to the otherwise boring, bland lager body. I could kick a few of these back, however.
