Summers here in North Florida are hot and humid, not exactly the conditions that most ale yeasts prefer. This is why Swamp Head chose a yeast for this beer that likes it hot! This traditional ale yeast used in the Wallonia region of Belgium produces a complex seasonal ale known as Saison. They do their best work at temperatures above 80, while typical ale yeasts prefer temperatures in the 60’s. So we figured if we have to work in a sweltering swamp environment, why not brew a seasonal ale that enjoys Florida summers too! From the initial aromas of pepper and summer fruits to the lingering finish hinted of floral hops, Saison du Swamp is a bottle-conditioned ale sealed for any season.

Bottle thanks to Homer! Pours clear golden, medium white head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is floral, honey, pepper, coriander, dust. Flavor is very light sweet, but the honey flavor makes it seem sweeter than it is, light bitter, floral and light herbal notes. Lightish body. easy to drink.

Bottle courtesy of BMMillsy. Thanks dude! Sweet pineapple, orange, yeast, and light vanilla aroma. Honey gold with a small white head. Spicy Belgian yeast, sweet fruity orange, and creamy wheat malt. Medium creamy body, soft carbonation. This one had a lot of wheat character, reminding me of a slightly funky Belgian wit. Very enjoyable, easy to drink.

hazy orange pour. Nose is sweet but very spicy! Taste is effervescent with citrus and lots of spiciness, almost overpowering. I sense some Brett but I don’t think this is hte brett version. I taste quite a bit of alcohol but overall, pretty good.
