A - Black with Amber hues, no head

S - Lots of peet, smoke and a roasted nutty toffee profile

T - Lots of roasted nuts and chocolates. Some licorice / tootsiie rolls and oak

M - mineral up front, finish is sweet and mild. lingering chocolate cake.

O - Nice but I don’t know if the style is spot on as "spice / herb"

On Tap at the Norwich Inn. The brewery calls this a black wit beer made from a wit base beer and roasted grains. Pours a deep brown color with a good sized off white head that sticks around for a little while and leaves lots of sticky lace. Smell is spicy. Wheat and coriander are very pungent in the aroma with a spicy tartness. Mild darker malts throw hints of roast and chocolate at my nostrils. Very spicy nose. Taste is again spicy wheat and coriander mixed with hints of chocolate. Spirited level of carbonation, medium body with a relatively dry finish. Interesting brew, I like what the roast adds to a style of beer I typically don’t enjoy. I thought the spicing was a bit heavy handed personally.
