Dark amber to brown colour, minimal beige-ish head; aroma of some toast, rye bread, hints of dried fruits and maybe caramel notes; taste is practically the same though not too intensive; correct

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 4C - Schwarzbier). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L2617S43. AROMA: clean lager background with mild sweetness and roasted notes with almost burnt character. APPEARANCE: very dark color and almost opaque. dark ivory head with low retention. TASTE: light malt flavour with light roasted notes. low bitterness with an aftertaste that dries out through time. some residual sweetness. clean lager profile. PALATE: light body with moderate carbonation. OVERALL: a schwarzbier that lacks body and some bitterness. it could also drop the food coloring.

Smooth and soft beer, with some notes of malt and caramel. Nice, but nothing special.

Bottled 330ml. -from Jumbo Cascais. Brownish coloured, small to medium sized off-white head, light caramel nose. Light roasted malt, some light caramel and brown sugar with nutty notes in rather short finish. Pretty average.

Bottle in the hotel Cascais, from Jumbo Cascais, 12/09/13. Pours mahogony brown with a good light tan head that soon dissipates to a covering. Nose is toasted malts, brown sugar, grain, fruits. Taste is caramelised sugars, bready malts, woody tones, brown bread, nutty. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation with a touch of spritz, toasty bready finale. So so - good by Portugeuse standards!
