Sampled @ Zythos Bier Festival 2018. A almost clear golden beer with a mid sized most good lasting white head. Aroma of mild grainy malt, pale malt, some wheat. Taste of mid sweet grainy malt, yeast, yellow fruits, mild aromatic hops.

Original rating 4.3/10 Thnx to Tim, Wim, and Eugene for the shared ! Pours clear blonde, small white head, rather unstable. Smell is sharp yeasty, mild maltyness. Taste is weak. Strong carbo, phenols and mild esthers. Aggressive, sharp bitterness that seems rather unnatural.

Rerate 2025. Hop changed to mosaic and cascade ( no more sorachi) and ibu brought down to 40 , so i regard the previous rating as null and void. Pours a clear blonde. Scent is green , earhty yet floral hops. Taste is full, mildly bitter, fairly complex, bit buttery (diacetyl?) pleasant fruity earthy undertone by the hops. Mild bitterness, personally would have enjoyed it a bit higher.
medium body and carbonation. A certain harshness in the finish, but that might be due to the plastic cup / diacetyl, which is the downside of having beer worth tasting on a metal festival i guess 6.8/10

Apparently a second, blonde version of that brown Stanneman, which I read about some weeks ago, is also in existence already, also brewed by Pirlot. At tderoeck’s Belgian ticks tasting. Loosely structured, off-white, quickly dissipating head, clear pale golden robe. Aroma of banana, sweet breakfast cereals, apple peel, dried thyme, old bread, old potatoes, turnip. Sweetish onset, some banana ester but not overdone, hint of pear peel but altogether low in estery fruitiness, medium carbo, grainy malt body with a hint of bread crust, leafy and rooty hop bitter finish, floral, drying. One of these beers where the malt and ester departments are a bit too thin to carry a firm hop bitterness, bringing things out of balance a bit, feeling a tad wry in the end. Not nearly as good as the Extra Dubbel.

21/VII/17 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk), shared @ Belgian Ticks Tasting (home) - BB: 23/III/18 (2017-1066)

Clear blond yellow beer, small creamy white head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: bit fruity, yeast, sweetish, some banana, spicy touch. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit spicy, pretty bitter, sweet touch, some banana, yeast. Aftertaste: metallic, pretty bitter, yeast, sweet touch, banana, correctly brewed yet utterly boring.

Thank you tderoeck! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Belgian Ticks Tasting Ghent”. Golden, small soapy white head. Nose is oily, low vegetable, mineral, vegetable part builds, poor green apple. Taste is too mineral, green vegetable, vegetable, bitter washing powder, yeast, green apple,… Body is mineral, vegetable, washing powder,… All poor notes,… Their Extra Dubbel was decent but this I disliked.
