Belgian-Style Abbey Ale with Dates and Spices

Monastic breweries wrote the book on complex ales that weave notes of dark fruits, spices, caramelized character and warmth into each sip. The Order summons that tradition and adds local inspiration. Our darkening, Belgian-inspired abbey ale features dark-fruited character from dates, Belgian-style sugars and subtle spicing from coriander, which compliments the Belgian yeast esters.

Sehr seeehr geil!

750ml bottle aged a year or two at least. Holds up quite well. Unfiltered brown body. Drinks a lot like a Quad, but unique enough tone to stand on its own like a true Belgian Strong Ale should. Sweet caramel and I suppose dates. The dates don't really stand out awkwardly at all, they complement the sweet malt and yeast tones perfectly. I get some honey sweetness. Great beer.
