This was almost a perfect stout. Complex toasty roasty notes over the soft vanilla. Just really a wonderful beer that I was happy to share the experience with a friend.

Bottle, thanks to Leighton. It pours very dark brown, with a thin tan head. The nose is caramel, vanilla, roasted malt and cocoa powder. The taste is roasted malt, charcoal, smoke, hay, dryness, coffee and some milk chocolate, with a dry finish. Light-medium body and low-moderate carbonation. It would be nice to have a touch more sweetness to balance it out. Decent and easy drinking stuff though.

Bottle at home in London with Paul. Pours brown with a small, beige foam head. Burnt cocoa, roasty malt aroma. Medium sweet flavor, light vanilla notes, cocoa, light burnt earth bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Some dusty cocoa to finish, some lightly roasted malts, light toasted grass, subtle burnt sugar. Some sweet tobacco. A really nice, easily drinkable stout. I like it.

My first beer from Maine Beer Co! Dark opaque black color, steady creamy beige head. Roasted, coffeish aroma. Medium-bodied. Toasted, soft, vanilla, coffeish with hints of tobacco. Classic robust stout. Great brew!

16 oz. Bottle. $5.99 @ Carl’s Meat Market, Kittery ME. Deep brown with reddish tints. Thick tan head that dies to a thin layer. Some retention with spotty lace. Nose is exclusively rich, chocolate malt. The flavor is where this one really shines. Roasted grain, chocolate malt, coffee and a nice, natural vanilla toward the back of the sip. Not overly sweet or overdone. Body is Medium to full with a nice creamy texture. Lightly dry finish. Really nice. Once I finished I wanted more.

Shared ~500ml? bottle with friends. Pretty enjoyable - mild vanilla notes, cocoa dominates. Flavor is rich chocolate, a bit reminiscent of dark chocolate hot chocolate.

I found this while shopping for my secret Santa target, merry Christmas to me. Pours a solid black color with a huge fluffy tan head that exudes great retention and lace. Smells of roasted grain, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, a bit of caramel. Smells nice like a stout with vanilla beans, but not to heavy on the vanilla. Taste is just what I expected from the aroma. A solid roasted grain presence with hints of vanilla and caramel. Medium body and level of carbonation, sweet slick mouthfeel. This is a great simple easy drinking stout. If these weren’t 7 dollars for 500ml and available only once a century I might actually drink it more often.

Bottle @ home, huge thanks to Arminjewell. Deep brown/black appearance with a nice brown head. Very nice roasty chocolate malty, rich cocoa, vanilla bean, light, caramel, sweet dessert aroma. Big chocolate malty, moderately roasty, vanilla bean, rich cocoa flavor. Excellent dessert beer that actually is almost on the same level as Aphrodite.

Pours black into an English pint. Conglomerate head with excellent retention recedes leaving scant sheet lacing to pancake surface. Sweet burnt chocolate aromas. Thin with upfront smoky chocolate and a lasting dry, sweet hot chocolate and resin finish.
