Bottle. Hazy, orange-brown body, with an off-white head. Sweetish nose, with caramel, a little sourness and some alcohol. It’s nice, but a bit anonymous for a Christmas beer. Flavorwise it is much the same, it is quite sweet and caramel-ish. The orange-peel and licorice was undetectable. Medium body, a bit sticky in the mouth maybe, but for a belgian-style ale, that’s ok. The finish has a peppery, hoppiness, but not so much bitterness. Quite nice, especially the finish. (070913)

50 cL bottle and from tap (at Den tatoverede Enke). Pours hazy deep orange to amber with a little lacing head. Herbal, slight spiced and orange fruity aroma. Flavour is mellow malty, citrus fruity and slight liqourice far into the finish, not much though.

500ml bottle. Clear red/orange body with a nice beige head. Aroma is malty and a bit spicy. Flavor is malty and quite acidulous bitter. Body is a bit watery and the overall impression of this beer is acidulous unbalanced. Compared to other ratings I suspect something might be wrong with this bottle. It’s about one month past BB date, but this should not affect this beer that much. Hope to re-rate, this beer has something promising somewhere.

Bottled, thanks Papsoe! Clear deep ruby, small creamy head. Fairly sweet and caramelly. Solidly malty with rounded mouthfeel. Interesting estery raspberry flavour. Finishes with low bitterness. Good, but not the most complex beer.

(bottle, courtesy of Papsoe) Hazy, reddish amber colour with a short, beige foamy head. Dusty and ashy, light-sweet and slightly toasted malt aroma with a touch of caramel and dark berries. Sweet and slightly sour flavour, medium to light bodied with a lively carbonation. Slightly toasted, malty and fruity (cranberries, black currants) taste; sweet and sour, malty and yeasty finish with spicy phenols. Still two months before passing its bb-date, but it is already a bit infected.

Bottled (BB 07/2007)
Thanks Papsoe! Hazy reddish color, big creamy head. Metal (iron), yeast and licorice in the nose. Quite yeasty with sticky flavor of orange peels, alcohol and glue-like yeast. Hints of sugar (sweetness), licorice flavors are quite subdued. Too restless to be really enjoyable.

A dark amber beer with a thin light brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of caramel, but also a slight acidity. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel. I find it slightly boring.

(On tap) Unclear dark brown with an orange glow. Delicate, creamy, fine structured, beige head - almost Guinness-like and velvety. Unfortunately it collapses rather fast. Very fruity aroma with some refined esters of almonds and marzipan. Very soft body with notes of citrus - mandarin - but at the same time a warmer, more christmasy flavour structure of dried fruits and honey. Lightly vinous finish almost without any bitterness. You also get a glimpse of some burned notes from the dark malt. The warming alcohol is present, but yet deceptively well hidden. A bit low in carbonation, but the brewer promises, that this will be fixed. A very promising and christmasy brew, yet light and very quaffable. 271005 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours a hazy, orangey brown with a dense, yellowish head. Spicy aroma with some licorice. Medium body sweet notes of fruit - oranges in particular - spices and also dried fruit. Unfortunately there’s a vague, underlying tartness which I don’t believe is intentional. 7/3/6/3/12= 3.1 090507
