Bottle from Hilldevils. Aroma is heavy on the wood chips with ripe fruits, muted hops, caramel malt, more wood, notes of orange. Flavour is sweetish with a long bitter finish. Body is medium. Quirky and different, a characteristic I appreciate this brewery for.

Thick-set with medium height ochre-cream head over hazy, mossy-amber beer. Cacao, bark, fertilizer, wood strips. Bitterish, cacao, again dry wood. Quite slick, very dry MF; medium bodied at least. Weird beer! 3 classic C-hops and I can't spot one. The bitterness here is really as from cacaopowder. Thanks to Stef!

Bottle. Amber color. Oak and candied red fruit in the aroma. Grassy notes. Malty sweetish flavor with oak, red fruit and ginger. Rich, estery DIPA.

Sample glass @ Alex and Suus. Clear amber with a white head. Hoppy malty caramel aroma with some oak. Sweet taste with some wood as well. Interesting beer but in my opinion (Imperial) IPA's are not meant to barrel age as I find the combination and hops seldom satisfactory.

Hazy, dark amber-brown colored, medium-small beige head. Aroma is of some malt, bit caramel and biscuit, lots of woody oak tannins, some citrusy hops. Taste is medium+ sweet malt, caramel, biscuit, toffee, toast, again loads of woody oak and tannins, a bit too much, medium+ bitterness, dryish finish, some citrus and fruity hops but mostly faded, bit alcohol and warmth. Medium+ bodied, soft carbonation, oily-sticky. Feels more like a American strong but with over the top oakchips... some more aging might mellow it out. (bottle, Huis Maria)

Roodbruin bier met stevig schuim. Doet zijn naam eer aan, kwam direct na openen uit de fles. Smaak is bitter hoppig en licht zuur fruitig met iets van zwarte thee en pruimen.

Bottle, batch A.06.2016 (from het biermoment). Pours amber. Aroma is sweet, malty, sugar, some hops, some rubber. Flavor is sweet and bitter, malt, some citrus, slight booze, some rubber. Finish is sugary sweet, malt, and some citric bitterness. Drinkability is fine. Overall: ok-ish, but doesn’t really grab.
