English dark beer can be produced in many different ways, but instead of a modern version ours follows a traditional English porter. We produce a relatable and popular Brown Porter. This is a dark beer which breaks the rules and has no sickeningly sweet aftertaste. When creating the recipe we used Maris Otter, the queen of malts, and added some characteristic ingredients such as peeled roasted malt, Brown Malt, caramel malt and the English hop, Fuggle. Who's it for? Hungarian dock workers and captains.

0.33l bttle. Very dark brown (almost black) body with a light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and biscuits. Taste of chocolate, raisins, caramel, vanilla, butter and spicy hops. Easy to drink and tasty beer. I like it.

Thank you! Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Very dark brown, maybe low ruby hue, tanned head. Nose is quite umami, huge sweet licorice, big sweet dark gelatine candy, gummy bear, candy, faint soy sauce,... Taste is weirder than the peculiar nose, weird herbal, coffee, coffee grounds mixed with black gelatine candy, herbs, grains, candy, strange, messy mix, black gelatine candy,... Body is herbal, grainy, black licorice candy, strange but not entirely bad, messy brew.

Bottle at Legfelsőbb Beeróság, Budapest. Poured a clear dark brown with a short-lived frothy light tan head. The aroma is light smoky roast, light metallic hop bitter. The flavour is light sweet, light liquorice bitter with a dry earthy mineral, liqouice hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A little light and no creamy characteristics that I would have liked to seen, but not the worst potter I’ve had by far.

Batch 179. Thanks kajser! Shared with him and franski. Murky brown body, big fluffy off whtie head, not bad. Aroma... hmm... dark malt, caramel and cherries, vague chocolate. Taste... mild chocolate, light and pleasant but ruined just a little by a yeasty note. Pleasant light porter.
