Rock Ice is created through an “Ice Brewing” system. In this system, the beer is sub-cooled to achieve the formation of fine ice crystals, which separate from the liquid without the loss of any aromatic substances. This chemical change influences taste and aroma. Costa Ricans have been enjoying Rock Ice since 1995.

Sweet cornmeal with rocket fuel. Drink ice cold to avoid all of the adjuncts in this beer.

Canned in Monteverde. Hazy pale golden, rich head. Strange fruity nosr with some orange shandy. Sweetish with light to medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Fruity flavour, like if the can ptrviously had been filled with artificial shandy, then refilled with industrial lager without cleansing it. Low bitterness in a finish with orange lemonade and white pepper.

Very bad. Tastes sour and kind of flat. Pours pissy yellow. Tastes like slightly carbonated garbage. Ill avoid this one like I usually do any beer in one of this clear bottles.

Can. Pours pale yellow with a small white head. Lightly skunky aroma of sweet malt. Sweet, watery and fruity with just a hint of bitterness. Fortunately it tastes slightly better than it smells.

The worst beer i had during my trip to Costa Rica. Pale straw color, with a harsh, biting taste. To top it off, when i ordered a different beer for the next glass, the waiter accidentially served me this a second time.

Bottle: Poured a bright golden color lager with a small bubbly head with not much retention. Aroma of corn is somewhat apparent with light sweet aftertaste. Taste is quite bland with adjunct being obviously used in this beer. I must admit that I could probably not distinguish the different lager form this brewer as they so closely resemble each other.

12oz can brought back from CR by my wife
Appearance: Pours clear straw yellow with a small head that dissipates quickly leaving some light lacing in the glass
Aroma: Pale malts, grassy and sharp citrus
Taste: Malty, corn, and grassy
Not very good, still better than some out there.

Can, alc. 5.2 % (BB 06/2008)
Pale yellow color, decent white head. Lively carbonation. Strong aroma of cereals, plastic and cardboard. Light palate. Quite watery and tasteless. Only some cardboardish flavors with sweet maltyness. Almost as bad as lemon version of this.
