SB Lager was established in 1993 as the first mainstream local beer. The full bodied beer (with a hint of sweetness) has a smooth taste that most locals appreciate – especially in areas where having a chilled beer is not always possible. SB’s iconic look reflects its strong local roots.

Bottle at wpbf. Clear golden color, small white head. Fruity apple aroma. Light-bodied. Also has lots of green apple. Low bitterness. Typical tropical lager.

Aroma is odd with butter, herbal and floral tones. Also mellow cardboard tones. Fees musty. Flavour has herbs, some grainy malt, mint and grassy hops. A bulk lager above average.

Can from a Supermarket in Port Vila, Vanuatu, August 2014. Clear golden with a small white head. Quite thin with cardboard, some light fruit. The finish was short with some light bitterness. Really nothing to write home about.

Deep gold colour. Slightly appley aroma, with more alcohol apparent compared with regular Solbrew. A touch of acidity but this serves to balance out the alcohol. It’s not so strong you can’t session it, which is good.
