Costa Ricans have been enjoying this beer since 1924. Imperial is created from a balanced formula combining malts, grains and hops, without a pronounced overtone in its taste. It is what is known as a “centralized” beer. Adapted to a warm and spring-like climate, Imperial is Florida’s most popular and widely accepted beer, both nationally and internationally, and has thus become the favorite beer of Costa Rica.

Small, persistent white head over crystal clear metallic golden beer. Sweetish, grainy nose with a faint vanilla-like note, dull. Classical, probably adjunct-laden sweet malty flavour. Dull. The aftertaste becomes, also classical for this type of international lager, metallic. Light and very slick, almost undercarbonated. Too bad. Litteraly and figuratively. Txs to Stef!

My beer of choice for my week in Costa Rica, January 2009. I packed a 330ml bottle for my home collection. It pours golden with a white head. Aromas & tastes of crackers, corn, grain, hints of citrus, hay, flora & malt. Moderate body. Dry moderate bitter finish. Enjoyable enough served cold

Country #100 - Costa Rica 🇨🇷
I did it!! 100 different countries, of which 98 I found in person and 2 were souvenirs from friends’ travels.
I just wish the 100th country was represented by something nicer than an under-average musty lager.
