Costa Ricans have been enjoying this beer since 1924. Imperial is created from a balanced formula combining malts, grains and hops, without a pronounced overtone in its taste. It is what is known as a “centralized” beer. Adapted to a warm and spring-like climate, Imperial is Florida’s most popular and widely accepted beer, both nationally and internationally, and has thus become the favorite beer of Costa Rica.

350ml can from a fundraising friend, shared with Ash. Pours pale straw yellow, no head. Aromas are cooked corn and green beans - classic mass-produced lager. Taste has more lemon, but a clean finish. Not as bad as I’d expected.

350ml can thanks to Allmyvinyl. Appearance - lemon with a thin head. Nose - sweetcorn and green beans. Some pale malt. Taste - more green beans, pale malt. Palate - light to medium bodied with a light texture and a clean finish. Overall - this is a well made lager.

Clear golden colour, white dissipating head. Malty aroma, moth balls, bit off. Sweet malty flavour, light biscuit. Lots of CO2. Sweet malty finish. Ah well, it’s a new country tick.

Bottle shared with Dutchdrebus, Joes and Martinus. Clear pale golden color, small white head that diminishes quickly. Smell and taste malts, lightly hayish, lightly cardboard, slightly a touch of bitter. Thin texture, low body, medium carbonation.
