Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is powdery cocoa, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, mocha, bit fruity with a touch of orange peel. Flavour is medium sweet with a moderate to medium roasty bitterness. Medium to full body. Not the biggest Stout but nicely velvety with lots of cocoa, roast, fruits. Well-balanced.

Draft at the Gravity taproom, Budapest. Poured almost black in colour with a short-lived, frothy, light tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate. The flavour is moderate to light sweet, light liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, herbal, light sweet chocolate, boozy liquorice bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

On tap. Pours black with short tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, vanilla, lactose, and slick roasted malts. Flavors of creamy coffee, dusty dark chocolate, lactose, subtle orange peel, and toasted malts. Good in terms of a pastry stout.

Tap at the surrealist. An opaque black coloured pour with a sticky mid tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, liquorice. Earthy salty roast. Charred barrel.. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, chocolate cake. Creamy, slaty roast, black liquorice. Rounded. Palate is medium sweet, creamy, velvety, moderate carbonation. Good.

I can say that I like what Atrium does with their labels. And the beers have been all right. Onyx this evening in a 33 cl bottle that was delivered by Etre Gourmet and is now being poured into a snifter. The body is a dark chocolate brown with a tawny brown skim of foam. I smell cocoa, sorghum and grain. The taste, well, a step up. A bit of char but not enough to overwhelm, baking chocolate, coffee, wheat bread, plums and some hard candy. Distinctly bitter at the end. A nice but not exceptional imperial stout.

33cl bottle. Thx Mjs. Poured near black. Chocolate and coffee, fairly dry with cocoa notes.
