RIS with cacao, vanilla and orange peel. Over 15 types of grain, vanilla, cocoa, orange peels, highly mineralized water… An extreme beer suiting our taste. Black color with a creamy brown top. Onyx offers quite rich aromas with hints of coffee, malt, cocoa and vanilla. A thick and complex flavor, a high percentage of alcohol.
Black and viscous… your soul is well cared... the comfort found in obscurity!

I Draught /I Deep russet rim, utterly jet-black beer. Molasses syrup, overdone caramel syrup, very roasted/burnt, roasted nuts. More syrup, liquorice, roast, meatroast, again typically burnt caramel & toffee. Chewy, well-bodied, some alcoholheat. Bitter chocolate in the aftertaste, cacao. Starts a tad sweet, rest good strong stout.

28 April 2019. At Zythos Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke, 77ships & tderoeck! Hazy black, small, unstable, foamy, dark beige head. Aroma of cinnamon, brownie dough, hazelnut paste, soggy biscuit, coffee liqueur, milk chocolate. Taste is medium malty sweet, lots of chocolate, praliné almost, brownie & vanilla touch, nuttiness evokes bitter notes of coffee roast & cookie spices with vague dark fruits underneath, leading to a dryish, earthy hoppy finish, where chocolate, cookie & cream linger, topped off with some nicely warming kahlua-like alcohol. Full body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Very smooth, sweet, creamy Stout.

F: thin, tanned film with some big bubbles. C: black, totally opaque. A: roasted malts, cocoa, chocolate, chocolate cookies, bit vinous, dark fruits, bit vanilla, orange is also in traces. T: rich dark malty, chocolate, cocoa, dark dried fruits, dark caramel, bit toffee, oily mouthfeel, bit vinous retronasal, bit vanilla, not very complex and from 06/18 yet quite rich taste still with full body and practically no carbonation, nice for me, enjoyed, 33cl bottle from Malting Pot bottle shop in Brussels.
