Juicy. Hoppy. Hazy. Fermented with Brettanomyces claussenii and almost 3lbs per barrel of hops for an intensely dank, resinous hop aroma and a light tropical & pineapple Brett. funk. A smooth, soft bitterness will have you saying New England style IPAs have nothing on Hippodrome.

All sorts of weirdness going on here, none of it all that encouraging for a funked-up DIPA. Super-sweet, with layers of caramel and honey on top of modest orange-lemon hoppiness, slight funk popping up alongside a pine and herbs on the finish. Not enough wild yeast to make things interesting, though, and the hops are too restrained to give a solid DIPA slap to the face. Gorgeous pour, orange-gold with a boisterous white head and endless lacing. Nice palate as well, lacking any trace of the ABV. Still wouldn’t drink it again.

Sampled on draft at Vintage Estate this beer poured a copper color with a small foamy white head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was chalk, Sweettart candies and funk. The flavor was sour with a hint of vinegar, chalk, Sweettart candies and funk. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Alcohol well controlled. Meh.

Sample at Kraft House No. 5 during the "Jackie O’s Tap Takeover and Sustainability Celebration" on 08/25/2016. The beer is a hazed golden color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of funky fruit, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of funky citrus, resiny hops and malt. The finish is mildly funky and bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
