Can at James’s, 26/03/16. Lightly gazed golden orange topped with a decent off White swirl. Nose is tangerine, straw, melon, soft bread, floral notes. Taste comprises chalky mineral notes, grain, toasted malt, grapefruit, grassy, sharp citric intake. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi aggressive hop bitterness in the close. Decent enough DIPA but a good way behind Skull King, drinks below the ABV, but lacks balance and is overly minerally.

Can thanks to stuu666. Pours hazy golden yellow with a thin white head. Aromas of pissy hops, sweat, tropical fruit. Taste is bitter. Dry, bitter finish. Not a big fan of this one.

Can at home in London - picked up at the brewery. This is my third can, so I’ve gotten to know this fella pretty well. Pours clear, bright gold with a staunch, frothy white head. Robust citrusy hops in the nose, some rind, pith, ripening tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, bready pale malts, suggestions of pine. Medium to heavy sweet flavour with more pithy grapefruit, lemon rind, pale bread, alcohol, oily pine, hay, some biscuits. Full bodied with average carbonation. Warming and resinous on the finish, with lots more juicy and citrusy hop character, light minerality, grass, pale bready sugars, more lemon and tangerine. It’s fairly robust, but also massively drinkable, and the hop expression is solid. Great stuff.

Can. Hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Skunky hop nose with touches of onion and garlic. Palate is light and mildly dry with good fine carbonation. Light malts, thin really but they bring decent sweetness. A piney and spicy hop entre, reasonable citrus ensues. More hop spice and a touch of tropical fruits. Skunk throughout. A fairly dry finish. Satisfyingly hoppy but the hops are little filthy, especially on the nose,

330ml can from Beer Gonzo. Pours clear gold, fluffy white head. Aroma is a vibrant tropical fruit medley. Taste is smooth, super fruity with minimal bitterness. Creamy apricot cheesecake, lychee, papaya.. they’re all fighting to introduce themselves, maybe even a hint of overripe banana mush? Lightly sticky, but that’s no bother for me. Beautiful DIPA.
