2x4’s award winning cousin. The * Imperial IPA uses copious amounts of mosaic hops that give this beer strong notes of tropical fruit, stone fruit, mango and berries. Brewed with a blend of northwest 2-row, light crystal, mosaic hops and some stuff you don’t even know about.

Tap into a snifter showing moderately filtered medium amber with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows pronounced notes of grapefruit rind, lemon, and dry pine. The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Moderately intense flavors of pineapple, pine resin, and a moderately intense bitterness that stretches through the end.

Draught at Lord Hobo, 11/30/17.
Lightly hazy, golden-brass body topped by a medium-sized, well-retained, white head.
Light pine quickly gives way to the very fruity character that seems to be prevalent in Melvin's beers. Must be partly from the yeast, and there is a bit of tackiness (alcohol, sharp ester, light glue), though this is hardly uncommon in today's yeasty-IPA-society. Still, the hops are endearing and done with minimal resin, while malts, perhaps a bit more robust than needed? find plenty of balance. Leafy green dank character and tons of juicy fruit with little/no resin.
Soft, malty, sweet, though drying out somewhat by means of both alcohol and hop bitterness. Still, their beers tend slightly sweet, even though I think it generally adds more balance than it does any issue with being too sweet. Nectarine, yellow apples, a bit of glue and wax and alcohol heat with light pine/grapefruit and low resin lingering. Engaging, ample carbonation and caramel-tinged honey malts.
