(Bottle) Hazy golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, grapefruit, pineapple, peaches and resin. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, peaches, nectarines, resin, bread and a balanced citric/resiny bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Fresh hop character, but it's mainly about hops. Quite nice.

Bottled (from Systembolaget Umeå). Pale yellow colour, small white head. Aroma is peach, mild tartness, fruits, nectar and some wooden notes. Flavour is grassy, herbal, citrusy, some bready, grainy and mild earthy tones. Long floral and earthy aftertaste.

Draft. A hazy yellow beer with a lazing yellowish head. The aroma has notes of hops, straw, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, straw, and malt, leading to a bitter finish.

Hazy yellow colour, small steady white head. Perfumic papaya, pineapple aroma. Medium-bodied. Citrus, grapefruit, dry yeast in the flavour. Quite dusty.

J'apprécie toujours ces IPA mono houblon, les trouvant toujours instructive à la fois pour la connaissance des caractéristiques des houblons mais également sur le savoir-faire du brasseur (sa capacité à savoir exploiter un houblon). Sur cette Chinook de Naparbier, je suis plus que réservé, et c'est avant tout une amertume herbacée et résineuse qui nous est proposé. Cela manque de charme. Je me demande s'ils n'en auraient pas mis en trop grande quantité. Le visuel est moyen sur un blond doré voilé, de grosses bulles et une mousse blanche nappant la surface. Le nez est plaisant sur la mangue, la pêche, l'orange, les herbes et un léger résineux. Bel équilibre que nous perdons à la dégustation dès l'attaque où l'amertume résineuse et herbacée est de trop prédominante. On y retrouve tout de même des arômes fruités notamment de pamplemousse et dans une plus petite mesure d'ananas, mais ceux-ci sont trop faibles. A noter également des épices bien présentes. En seconde bouche, l'amertume monte d'intensité et devient plus sèche. Aucune évolution aromatique n'est à noter, et cela sera encore le cas en arrière-bouche et sur le final. Le côté herbacé restant trop prédominant. Si la longueur est correcte, la corpulence est pour sa part insuffisante. L'alcool, lui, à 6% est d'une bonne efficacité. Chinook pas convaincant.
