Tap at Spuyten Devil, New York. Colour is cloudy light orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Spices, fruits, orange, orange peel, Belgian yeast and malts. Very strange.

75 cl bottle. Hazy golden, gigantic rocky white head dissipating quickly leaving some lacings. Aroma is fresh cut grass, hay, citrus, spices, slight sweet notes, yeast, flowers. Taste is a fine balanced mix of citrus, minerals, yeast, an almost unnoticeable, but for its purpose perfectly served, malty background. Ends dry. Medium body, medium carbo, sharp bubbles, crispy texture. Very well executed. I will get more of these.

750ml Bottle - Golden with a slight haze and a white head. Lemon, yeast, lime and a hint of soap in the aroma. Tangy, zesty and fairly bitter taste with notes of lemon, grapefruit, lime zest and some slightly spicy and soapy hints. Very refreshing, easy to drink and enjoyable.

Shared 750 ml corked green bottle, Pale golden colour, large to moderate white head. Very spicy, yeasty and lemony aroma. Very spicy / white pepper dry flavour, nearly too much, but acceptable.

Flaske pΓ₯ rbhd-treffet feb-15: lys gylden med hvitt filmskum. Mye nellik og pepper pluss litt svidd gummi i smak og aroma. Saison er en av mine favorittstiler, og dette er en god representant for stilarten.

24th Jan 2015: shared 750ml bottle at the Cotteridge Wine meet. Cheers Fin for this. The beer had been passed around a bit before I got my grubby hands on it, so my misty golden pour and wispy headed sample may have been towards the sediment end of the bottle, so the look was ’iffy’. The taste and aroma of course were intensified by the said sediment and I had a nose full of sour citrusy lemon esters and a tart, yeasty, lemony flavoured drink in front of me that maybe others would have enjoyed more than me: toilet duck came to mind.

Bottle at Cotteridge wine convention; hazy straw yellow pour with a thin white head, aroma has zesty lemon and yeast, taste has sharp citrus, sour action and some funky brett.
