Draft 10 oz pour at Special Brews. Pours a golden yellow color with an active carb and fizz head. Cool ginger, light vicks like aroma. Flavor is a semi dry wheat and grain, slightly tart, slightly salty, soft fruit. Herbal, almost spicy finish. Strange, but not bad.

From tap at Craft & Draft. Lacing, moussy, dense, snow white head, deep golden blonde colour with orangey hue. Aroma is ruined by DMS (cooked cabbage) which just wouldn’t go away - covering more elegant aspects of yellow grapefruit, dried ginger, sour yoghurt, coriander seed, lemon peel, green olive. Soft but vivid and ’agile’ lemony sourishness, medium carbo, soapy wheat, some metallic hint in the middle, very light coriander, faintly bitterish hops in the finish and after swallowing, a soft saltiness lingers - as can be expected from the style. Interesting idea, but unfortunately not all too well executed: the DMS is too much for me, and the flavor combo could have been better balanced.

Shared with Travlr! Sampled draft @ Craft & Draft. Clear orange, golden, solid creamy white head. Nose is mellow ginger, soap, sugar, lightly salt, mellow smell. Taste is tad weak, watery ginger with mineral components, faint herbal, salt, spices. A bit too mineral & watery, ginger saves it a bit. Okay but I feel like I always have too high expectations with Almanac & they let me down.

Draft at beertemple. Aroma of sour malt, spices, salt and ginger. Fresh sour taste of spices, ginger, mild subtle salt and a spicey fresh finish. I understand why a lot of people don’t like this, but I think it’s great.

Keg at Craft 100 - Craft Beer Co. Clapham, London. Pours clear, light gold with a foamy, white head. The nose holds light wheat, lemon and subtle ginger. Light sweet flavour with nippy acidity, doughy wheat, more soft ginger spice. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with mellow ginger character, doughy wheat bread sweetness. Clean and dry. Easygoing, restrained.
