For over 60 years, SP Lager has been our beer – PNG’s favourite. It’s the beer you have when you’re sharing the good times with mates, relaxing with your wantoks, getting ready for a night out or just throwing in a line to catch dinner.

It’s a flavoursome full-strength (4.5%) brew available in 330ML bottles and cans (sold in packs of 24, 12 and 6) as well as 500ML cans (sold in packs of 24 and 6).

F: big, white, average retention. C: yellow to gold, clear. A: malt, cardboard, corn, adjuncts, caramel, sweet bread. T: malt, light corn, caramel, bread, medium body, medium carbonation, for me not very tasty probably the local have different taste priorities, 330ml bottle from New World supermarket near airport in Nadi in Fiji.

Bottle from Dan Murphy’s in Australia, brought to UK by Vinnie. Country #102. Pours a pale gold colour with a thin white head. Sweet malt aroma, sweet taste. Very light body. Medium carbonation. No aftertaste, just a bit too sweet.
