Bottle, 8.0%. Good bready aroma with a citric and yeasty note. Cloudy dark golden colour, almost orange. Big stable white head. The flavour is malty with a note of fresh white bread and dried fruit. Clean finish. Bubbly carbonation.

33cl bottle from Prik & Tik Dranken Marlou. F: huge, white, long lasting. C: gold, hazy with light yeasty veils. A: banana, coriander, peach, spicy, honey, mellow fruity, grassy. T: full body, peach, banana, coriander, bready, spicy, dry on the palate, medium to full carbonation, bit more on the sweet side yet not bad for the style, enjoyed.

*rating overgezet 2016* Het is een troebel goudgeel bier met een wit schuim. Het heeft een moutige wat citrus achtige geur. De smaak is moutig, fris met tonen van sinaasappel.

Second beer of this new Limburg micro brewery, with an audibly crackling, frothy, egg-white, coarse head captured after fairly strong gushing but collapsing relatively quickly, over a warm ’old gold’ coloured beer with a delicate haze of yeast suspended in it, darker and cloudy with deposit. Estery, yeast-spicy, bit alcoholic and somewhat phenolic aroma of peach, pineapple, baked banana, grass, coriander seed, some faint iron, white bread, wet paper, honey, oude ’jenever’, cider, something vaguely gasoline- and band aid-like (phenols!) and a faint hint of H2S (rotting egg), but fortunately weak enough to remain probably unnoticed if served chilled. Taste begins fruity, typical and somewhat generic Belgian yeast effect of peach, pineapple and some banana, touch of green apple, fizzy carbo, smooth and supple mouthfeel, sourish accent of citrus peel refreshes a bit, residual sweetness not unlike white candi syrup, nice bready and ever so slightly biscuity malt sweetishness beneath, late and subtle, drying spice effect which I assume is the obiquitous coriander, bittering finish with leafy, earthy, ’noble’ hops as well as a fair dosis of gin-like alcohol, warming and a little bit wry on the root of the tongue, but not disturbingly so. Malty sweetness and alcohol are the last impressions, the hops fade away before that. In all: basically another cliché tripel, with a few minor flaws in the aroma, but the taste is enjoyable. With some more finetuning, this could become a very decent Belgian tripel.

Pours rather clear blonde, but looks unfiltered ( the way it should be ! ) . Good white head, but not super-stable. Smell is bit sharp, mild yeast and some malt tones. Taste is bit bitter, very yeasty ( the overripe fruits ) . Malts are very in the back. Appart from the bitterness , no hoppy characteristics are to be found. Some sweet sidenote. Overall, I’d say this is too yeasty to be in that tight spot of pure balance, yet too safe to be really rememorable. An OK beer, but nothing more. The sweetness in this is mild

(Bottle,0.33 l, at Tuulensuu, 20150307) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, spiciness, honey and yeast. Palate was medium bodied with rather high carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, yeast, honey, sugary sweetness, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was yeasty, sweet and bitter. A decent brew with Belgian style yeast.

Bottle @ home. Hazy orange - golden color, medium sized white to off-white head. Aroma is lightly malts, yeast, a hint of citrus. Taste lightly malts, yeasty, slightly sweet but also a bit bitter. A hint of orangepeel. Average to medium body, medium to full carbonation. Nothing really wrong with it, but it’s one of so many average to decent Belgian Strong Blond beers.

Bottle sample @ ZBF’13 shared with the RB Belgian crew.
