Aged sample Small, if steady cream coloured head over cola coloured beer. Smoke and husks a mile out; closer by sweet, fortified wine, raisins and some oxydation. And... coriander? Oxydation, madeira, sweet. However, nos smoke in the flavour, let alone peat... Strange. In the very aftertaste, there's a certain woody bitterness. Well bodied, age has thinned it a bit. Accuses its age, no doubt. The peat is simply absent. Txs to Stef!

Taster showing pale brown with sparse white foam.
The nose shows moderately intense sweet malt notes.
The palate is lightly carbonated and medium bodied. Mildly sweet with a light smokiness and mild hop bitterness on the finish.

Slight dirty brown color. Slightly sweet malty nose with decent fruitiiness and just a touch of smoke in the background. Slightly sweet, sticky palate with brown sugar, smoke and dark fruit and a touch of molasses.. good stuff.

375ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, brown colour with ruby glimmer and average to huge, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, caramel maty, slightly peaty and fruity aroma, notes of dried fruit, resin, sultanine, fig, some brown sugar. Taste is sweet, caramel malty, fruity, slightly dry peaty, minimally alcoholic, notes of dried fruit, raisin, sultanine, fig, hints of brown sugar - a slight muesli touch overall. OK.

Bottled 375ml. -from Beergium. Brownish coloured, medium to big beige head, caramel and light peat in the nose. Toasted malt, caramel, subdued notes of smoke and some alcohol in the finish. Unfortunately quite uninteresting.

Bottle at Taps Beer Bar Changkat, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy dark brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasty smoked malt, toffee caramel, bags of liquorice. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter, light sweet with a rich smoky malt, charcoal, alcoholic hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Fine to taste but I struggled to finish the bottle. Didn’t really get the peat at all. Way too much liquorice and I’m an Allsorts fan! Not sure that’s what brewers really want.
