Our Double Stout, the sixth in the series, is brewed to a recipe from 1910 - a time of high popularity for this strong dark ale. This recipe is distinguished by smooth chocolate and coffee notes, with black forest fruit flavours emerging with hop bitterness. As a bottle conditioned beer it contains sediment that allows the flavours to develop up until the moment the bottle is opened. A perfect alternative to port, great with cheese as well as chocolate.

(Bottle) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, black rye bread, liquorice, cacao, raisins and roasted nuts. Malty, roasted taste with notes of black coffee, black rye bread, liquorice, cacao, raisins, roasted nuts, a touch of soy sauce and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a slight sweetness. So tasty and well balanced. Solid and well made stout. Very nice.
