Black Butte Porter Aged in Whiskey Barrels
We imagined a beer somewhere between la-la land and paradise where brushes of vanilla & oak combine in a rich and bold porter. Today is the day to summit.

Draught, Curious Cafe. Medium brown and hazy. Bubbly head. Toasty. Bit of chocolate and a hint of whiskey. Lots of vanilla for sure. Toasty, and aggressive alcohol. Bit of chocolate. Not super refined. I think that surprises me, given that Black Butte is a very refined beer and dates to 1988. It's not a bad beer, but it really is clumsy and from a brewery with this pedigree that's a bit surprising.
