Wenig süßer, harmonisch malzig-getreidiger Antrunk, weich. Geringe Herbe, hohe Süffigkeit. Im MIttelteil steigend würzig, das Bier bleibt rund. Im Nachgeschmack nachlassend. 10/10/9/9/10/9

Bottle from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours translucent dark gold with a white head. Warm caramel aroma. Approaches med body. Flavor is caramel, and there’s a follow on flavor I’ve encountered before but can’t put a name to. Making me think of Horlick’s tablets. Haven’t had those for awhile. So this is not very dry, and certainly not very bitter, but it somehow works for me. I do tend to enjoy kellerbieren.

Bottle (many thanx to Jonas for this missing piece!): Deep golden to light amber coloured, stable mid-sized white lacy head, moderate fruity-grainy nose, shy hops and some yeast underneath; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, soft and medium bodied; caramelly and malty flavour in the sweet-yeasty finish. O.K., but should be sampled fresher.....

Rerate from tap at the brewery. Cloudy Orange, off-white cream. Fruity, juicy, light mineral, foamy turbulent dry on the palate. Apples and orangepeel. Nice, glad I had this again. Old rating:6 3 6 3 12 Bottle. Amber, lowish off-white head. Caramel and beey aroma. Solid mouthfeel, caramel malt, Light citric and berry notes, earthy hops, light green apple retronsasal. Teetering towards a Bock, but retains a fresh character. I would like to try it fresh from tap, the flavors from the bottle are a bit muddled.

(bottle) Cloudy, orange-amber colour with a persistent and slightly tanned foamy head. Yeasty caramel-malty aroma with subtle fruity notes and herbal hops. Mildly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Cara-malty base with yeasty and subtle fruity notes, accompanied by a tinge of butterscotch; sweet and mildly bitter hoppy finish with delicately herbal spice. Solid quality. 26.X.11
