330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with late awakening, small, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige to tan head. Chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, minimally woody, vinous overtones, a spicy touch of blue grapes and dark berries. Taste is dry, roasty, chocolately dark malty, woody and vinous, notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, wood, blue grapes, dark berries; soft and minimally sticky palate. Good.

Black with thin creamy head. Aroma has caramelised red fruits and dark malts. Flavour is very powerful with syrupy sweetness combined with heavily roasted malt bitterness. Full bodied and dangerously easy to drink.

Bottle at Duque Brewpub. It pours pretty much black with a decent tan head. The aroma is rich, sweet, sticky, cream, vanilla shortbread, strawberries & cream, red wine, toasty, custard, vanilla creme brulee and candy. The taste is slick, bitter - sweet, juicy, strawberry, cream tea, scone with jam&clotted cream, toasty, roasted malt, some warming alcohol with a dry, roasted finish. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation. Really like the influence of the red wine barrel aging. Must be a fresh barrel given all that vanilla and strawberry. Smells a bit like a funky budda beer, only achieved without adjuncts. One of my favourite beers from Portugal so far. More red wine barrel aging please!

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 33B / 9C). Bottle 33cl - Batch L20102016 (BBF 10/2017). AROMA: moderate cocoa notes, in balance with red fruits aromas with a background vinous character. slight nutty presence. APPEARANCE: dark brown with opaque body with ruby highlights. medium-low light brown head with medium-low retention. TASTE: initial red wine barrel flavor with slight wood and vanilla notes, followed by roasted malt (cocoa). medium-low bitterness from hops and roasted malts to balance. almost dry finish. PALATE: medium-high body with low carbonation. OVERALL: a very interesting and nice baltic porter, barrel aged. it would benefit with a tiny little bit more carbonation.

Tap (LisBeer, Lisbon). Black colour, beige, big head, very nice lacing. Chocolate, a bit roasty with delicate note of oak and wine. Chocolate with notes of sweet vanilla and great wooden finish with red wine aftertaste. Very good baltic porter red wine barrel aged, full body with intensive barrel notes.

Malziger, dunkel würziger Antrunk. Weich mit geringer Herbe, Noten von Schokolade. Geringe Karbonisierung, was aber nicht stört. Spritzig. 11/11/11/11//11
