0.75 l bottle from 'Bergmann Stehbierhalle', 2013 vintage at 6.9% abv, best before August 2023. Almost clear, orangeish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, intensely fruity, slightly resiny and minimally soapy aroma of orange jam, mango, some pine and a touch of honey. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, rather fruity, gently floral and slightly resiny taste of orange jam, caramel, honey, grapefruit and some pine, followed by a short, gently bitter finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Nicely hoppy Maibock, fits perfectly into spring.

Tap: Literally deep golden, nearly clear, smaller persistent off-white head, moderate sweetish-malty to honeyish nose, mineralic spots and herbal hops in the background; moderate - as well - sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied and a bit tart; slightly lingering and slightly drier honeyish and herbal-bitter finish. O.K.! Surely better lagered than the 2018 vintage...

Tap: Deep golden, a bit unclear, stable medium-sized off-white head; sweet malty nose with worty and metallic traces, sugary and burnt-malty, too; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, quite light bodied, well hidden alcohol; sugary-caramelly finish, gets drier in the mildly bitter aftertaste. Not convincing, needs some improvement…

Milder karamelliger Antrunk. Geringe Karbonisierung, geringfügig Alkohol. Das Karamell bleibt konstant, daneben intensiver durch getreidig-ledrige und mild hopfige Noten. Mittellanger Nachhall. Gut. 10/9/11/10//11
