Draft @ Tilquin English Fest ’16, courtesy of and shared with the fine Belgian RB crew.

Draught Good dense, just off-white head over clear golden beer. Fine, but very far-away hops. Later, more and more cattiness, ureum. Quite malty flavour, hops arriving retronasal. Old dry bread. Creamy head helps to make this feel better bodied than 3.5% would warrant. Ho-hum. No doubt good for a summer quaffing session after hot work. But Britain has had better than this for the longest time.

Very light haze on this gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light, fairly dry and a minerally crispness. Very thin malts. Hops bring mild skunk with traces of pine and a little crystallised fruits. Light finish. Fresh air beer - uninspiring.

330ml bottle from the brewery via Eebria. Pours gold with a light mist, white head. Aroma is fresh cut grass, grapefruit. Taste is exceptionally fruity for the strength, bearing mango, grapefruit, pine, passionfruit. Very good, flavoursome, easy-drinking session IPA.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of lime, minerals and kiwi fruit. Flavour of melon rind, biscuity malt and grass. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. Lots of flavour for the ABV.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Cotteridge, Birmingham, consumed at home Sunday 17th April 2016 whilst eating our Mechoui the Fish Pie we cooked will be for later in the week. Hazy gold with a white head. Some mango in the mouth with a little polish, curly soft hoppiness with a dry finale. It’s a good low strength beer, enjoying this. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4
