Dikke Jan Tripel is a blond beer (dark gold) with a beautiful creamy white head. The aroma has a touch of cheese in the nose. Fruity. The taste is slightly bitter with a lasting slightly bitter aftertaste. A taste that lingers. The nose has a slightly sweet aroma, tart notes. However, the beer is nicely dry. Light hints of spices can also be noticed! Slightly hoppy. The beer is well balanced. Three types of hops and the same number of malt varieties make this beer a topper.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours hazy gold with a thick white head. Aromas of honeyed malt, floral hops. Taste is on the sweet side, vanilla maybe. Sweet finish, and low abv for the style I'd say.

--Bottled. --Hazy deep golden, mildly gushing, rich firm head. Aroma of honey, ripe fruit and cheese. Mid sweet with medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Cottony honeyish malt, mild floral hops and notes of marzipan. Mid bitter finish.

On tap @Bruges Beer Festival, April 9 & 10 2022. Color amarillo espuma blanca, aromas malta, especiada, sabor malta, dulce, cuerpo medio.

Golden colour with thin head. Full bodied and malty. Sweet from the malts but not much of the typical Tripel banana and spice.

Bottle from Carrefour. Pours hazy ochre with a huge, lasting, foamy, off-white head; decent lacing. Aroma of yeast, banana, pineapple, pear, spices, old bread, vague glue/solvent. Taste has sweet pineapple, banana, bready & yeasty feel with a spicy accent, something weirdly plastic-like too. Dry, grassy hoppy finish, yeasty, dash of jenever-like alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Cliché with some flaws, too bad.

Bottle shared at home - Light golden pour with a small white head. Sweet citrus lemony fruity, some sweet malty, some white sugar, medium body, fruity sweet malty finish.

04/02/2018 - small glass shared with tderoeck, 77ships and rubin77 @ BAB, Bruges. Hazy blonde, small lacing. Nose is sweet malty, banana, some pear, yeast. Taste is banana, sweet, some spices, yeast.

Donkergeel bier met stevig schuim. Smaak licht bitter hoppig en ietwat zoet met iets van ananas en banaan.
