Tap at Kaunas railroad station bar. Med-thin body, med-light carbonation, could use a bit more bubbles imo. Medium sweetness, light bitterness, feels too sweet and not bitter enough. Light booziness, surprisingly not more, and it is unobtrusive. Quite clean, once again a nice feature, no big flaws. Overall a rather drinkable, dangerous beer. Definitely one of the best in this style and scale of production.

500ml, tall and elegant brown bottle with two dates on it: 01.07.11 and 28.12.11, hope I’m not about to open an old lager! This is a live tasting on 1st March 2013. The bottle was bought in a random shop along-side Walthamstow (London) Market two weekends ago. The beer was poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard and it looks cloudy, it wasn’t half way through the pour, it became misty as I emptied the contents fully into the glass. Old gold with an issue is what I ended up with, the white fluffy head soon became disinterested and turned into a wispy island or two with a collar around the tankards rim. The smell (at first) was like a German Wiessbier: I detected bananas and vanilla within the sweet aromas hitting my nose; tropical fruit esters followed, mango and pineapple for instance. The taste is very fruity, those tropical fruits appearing in the flavour as I drink the beer. The alcohol giving the fruits an extra bounce, strength and sweetness. It is almost like a fruit punch or cocktail in depth of flavour and body: I’m impressed. No idea if my bottle is 2 years out of date: but if it is, it has allowed the beer to mature into a weird and wonderful concoction of flavours that I’d love to taste again. My sweet tooth has really, really enjoyed this.

Bottle, 8.1%. Fruity aroma, hint of urine and pepper. Clear golden colour, stable white head. The flavour is slightly sweet, quite malty. Well balanced by some alcohol. Vinous, seems well lagered. Slightly peppery aftertaste, but quite well-rounded.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Ungstrup. Slightly hazy golden with a dense, white head. Sweetish, malty nose with a touch of alcohol. Medium body with sweet malts and notes of brewing cereal. Slightly bitter finish with a potent alcohol burn. 110108

Bottled. A golden beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of fruit and alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of fruit, but also a light metallic note from the alcohol, leading to a slightly dry finish.
