Pours dark brown to black from the bottle. The tan and creamy head lingers and sticks to the glass. Aroma is roasted grains, chocolate, and an underlying fruitiness. Taste is sweet up front, finishes bittersweet to bitter, quite dry, and fruity. Body is medium to full, carbonation is mild. Overall, very pleasant sipping.

Bottle @ dad’s shared by dad and split with him and some friends. Dark brown to black color, medium to full sized off-white to beige head that lasts for quite a long time and leaves fair to good lacing. Aroma is malts, hops, old hops, floral sweetness. Taste malts, hops, old hops, malt bitter, hop bitter. Finishes quite pleasant with a fine hop, hop bitter and dark malt bitter aftertaste. Decent body and carbonation. Might be quite good when fresh.

Thank you for sharing Sebletitje & tderoeck! Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ Vini Birre Ribelli 2016. Dark brown amber, little head. Nose is cheap mocha power, cacao, sugar, bit stale, not getting any real hop. Taste is bit stale, mocha, powder, herbal, thin cheap chocolate profile, sugar. No real hop profile. Thin bodied mocha powder body. Not particularly impressed by this one.

Bottle sample @ Vini Birre Ribelli ’16 shared with 77ship and Tderoeck. Brune, col beige.

Tap at Les Trois 8, Paris. Dark brown color, almost opaque, good creamy off-white head, lace. Coffeish aroma has rubbery notes. Medium-bodied. Dark malts, coffee, rubber. Some hops but backbone is a bit empty.

0.33l bottle from alsace.
pours a very dark chestnut with a medium beige head and some lacing. aroma of toasted malts, caramel, chocolate, dark fruits. malty, not so much hops on the nose. flavour of licorice, cold coffee, woody hops, pumpernickel bread, some lactic and citric notes. balanced. alcohol is barely noticeable. interesting, even if does not have much of an ipa character.
