19th Nov 2018. Monthly Share Group meeting in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury, only three of us this time. 33cl bottle; BB Feb 2020, brought by me. Misty amber body, snow white crown. Peaty and smokey, liked it. Not 'in your face' smokey!

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Nov 18, thanks to blackhaddock. Pours murky muddy brown, white froth. Strong meaty woody rauch on the nose. Excellent smoked meat character, with charred wood and assorted nutty moments. Very good.

Bottle @ home. Clear dark orange color, average to medium sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, smoke and lightly sweet. Not much more to it imo but it doesn't need much more. Very well balanced imo. I'm enjoying this one. Nice!

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker. Pours clear amber with a small, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of smoked ham, peated malt, 'turf'-like Islay whisky, roll tobacco, wood, BBQ ash & spices, kitchen herbs, peanuts, orange, caramel, red berry & green olive even. It tastes medium malty sweet, bit fruity & caramelly with notes of smoke & nuts; light herbal bitter middle balancing a berry- or even wheat-like sourness. Dry, herbal hoppy finish, lingering smoke, yeast & faint caramel. Medium body, watery/slick texture, lively carbonation. Balanced, drinkable Smoked.

Clear orange colour with lasting head. Aroma and flavour are quite smokey and leathery. Some sweeter malt comes through in the finish.
