A true English IPA. The hops are Target and Progress grown from the National Trust’s Scotney Castle hop garden. This is a true India Pale Ale brewed with lots of hops to produce a golden ale, hoppy and bitter.

Bottle from The Crafty Barbers. Pours a slightly hazy amber colour with a medium sized throthy white head. Aromas of citrus fruits, light apricot and biscuits. Taste has more gentle citrus and apricot, biscuits and an earthy and grassy hop bitterness on the finish. Fairly light bodied and a smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Nice subtle flavours and not too overpowering. Good one.

30/1/2020. Bottle, as Session Brewing India Pale Ale, from CentrAle, Newcastle. Pours clear dark golden with a long lasting foamed off-white head. Aroma of hops, sweet malt, tropical fruit, light citrus and a bit of stewed veg. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Sweet fruity finish. Nothing special this one.

Bottle from National Trust Shop, Polsden Lacey nr. Letterhead. Malty aroma with grass and caramel. Copper gold. Creamy white head soon thins out. Medium bitter. Some underlying malts. Gains citrus and hints of sweetness. Thin. Slick. Slightly sticky. Average carbonation. Dry astringent finish. I guess this is an IPA - English aka a hoppy bitter. Fine.

Taste is malt, grain, sweetish, with fruity earthy metallic cardboardy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dry tangy grainy bitter finish. Not the best.

Bottle at Monacute House. Pours golden with fluffy white head. Not much aroma, perhaps faintly citrus. On the taste it’s bitter & malty, some citrus & biscuit. Zingy hoppy finish. Medium body. Brewed with Kentish hops & English barley. It’s not bad

Hazy dark blond. Aroma and flavour have good malt/hop balance. Lots of floral hop on this one.
