Chocolate & Marshmallow Ale. One sip & you'll want S'more. To celebrate our 111th year of independent brewing, we brewed Shiner S'more with real Texas chocolate. We sought out the perfect fire roasted cacao for this chocolately creation. We brew up Texas small-batch cacao along with roasted malts for a full-bodied flavored ale with rich notes of chocolate, caramel, and vanilla - a flavored ale that sure to make you one happy camper! Enjoy!

12 ounce bottle from Valley Liquor Little Chute, 6/2/19. Black, thin fizzy brown head, fair retention. Aroma of chocolate, roast. Articificial. Taste is roast, chocolate, apple-like fruits, herbal notes, charred oak. Thin. Weird

Sampled from a bottle this beer poured a black color with a large foamy tan head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was strong artificial vanilla, light cocoa and cola. The flavor was strong sharp artificial vanilla light cocoa, vodka and cola. Long finish. Medium body.

12 oz. can. Pours a clear dark ruby red color with a thick beige head and great retention. Very good lacing. Spot-on S'mores aroma. The taste matches the nose. Dark malt and chocolate flavor up front with a soft vanilla and marshmallow finish. Not overly sweet. No bitterness. Smooth and creamy with low carbonation. It might be a bit gimmicky but it's a great brown ale!

Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is pretty much all marshmallow with some minor chocolate notes. Flavor is pretty much the same. Some marshmallow and chocolate notes but overall pretty thin. It is as advertised tasting like a smore but it probably took a whole lot of adjuncts to make it that way.

Buttery burned marshmallows aroma. Clear cola brown, medium tan head, good lace. Toasted marshmallows, vanilla. Medium body, easy carbonation.

Smells like a S’more, as it should, with waves of chocolate and marshmallow wafting from the glass. As for the taste...yeah, fits its namesake, but it still doesn’t make for a very enjoyable pint. Chocolate, banana, and fruity Shiner esters lead to a marshmallow-and-cocoa-laden back end, with an unexpected floral bitterness leading to an increasingly sweet (and somewhat artificial) chocolate fade. Just...weird, gimmicky as it sounds. Pass
