Bottled. Black colour, mediumsized foamy beigeish brown head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, syrup, cardamom, cinnamon, clove, star anise with some fudge and mild dried fruity tones. Flavour is rather complex, coffee, chocolate, cinnamon, zest, cocoa, star anise cardamom and some clove too. Dark chocolate with some spices in the aftertaste.

Bottle from Gedeelde Vreugde. Pours cloudy black with a big, frothy, dark beige head. Aroma of 'After Eight' (mint-filled chocolate), fondant, candied orange peel, prune, black olive, tea leaves, allspice, cardamom, beef stock. Taste has sweetish prune, chocolate & dark toffee, bittersweet orange peel covered with bitter allspice & liquorice, a tad gravy-like umami & faintly roasted. Earthy hoppy, spicy finish, more orange peel & dark chocolate. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Spice bomb but it works surprisingly well.
