Can: poured a coppery clear color with a off white creamy head. Sweet malt and hops aroma. Has a different taste than I am used to, malts were in the front and hops followed. Still enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a clean medium amber with a sticky off-white head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of sweet caramel, mild citrus, fruit, and pine. Taste is predominantly malty with a nice piney hop profile. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. An enjoyable beer, but nothing to remember.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best by 5/3/2012. Pours crystal clear orange amber color with a nice 2 finger dense light khaki head with fantastic retention that reduces to a thick cap that lingers. Some decent lacing on the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, orange, pine, floral, caramel, biscuit, and herbal spiciness. Nice and well balanced aromas with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, pine, orange, caramel, honey, biscuit, and herbal spices. Good amount of bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, pine, caramel, and biscuit on the finish for a bit. Great malt and hop balance, showcasing a great citrus flavor throughout. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and slightly sticky mouthfeel. Very smooth drinking; with basically no alcohol warming presence. Overall, some seriously excellent stuff here. Great balanced flavor profile, and very smooth drinking. Recommended.

On tap at Monsters of Beer 2011. Pours a dark amber with a medium creamy of white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is grapefruit and pine. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet hop and pine. Easy to drink, a very good IPA from Big Sky.

Bottle. Bright copper with an off-white head. Aroma of marmalade, pine and toffee. Taste has quite firm and toasty caramel but the sweetness is quickly swept away. Dry with a solid bitter finish. Wood, earth and citrus. Rather dead mouthfeel. Good but uninvolving. [3.5] Can. As above but the caramel bothers me more now and makes the whole thing seem a little tired. But the sweetness does get cleaned up at the end. OK.

12oz bottle from Pick’s Liquors poured into a shaker. Color is a hazy dark orange. About 1 finger of thick off-white head that stays forever leaving great lacing. Aroma is grassy and citrus hops with a little sweet malt. Taste is heavy bitter and lightly sweet. Medium-heavy bodied with a thick creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long bitter finish. Overall, its a pretty good beer. Although, you can get a lot better IPAs for about the same price.

12 oz, bottle got in a trade with Sledutah. Used a pint glass. A light brown or amber color. Huge, off-white head that is amazingly long lived and dense. Great lace down the glass. A well blended balance of hops and malt. Somehow this is different then most other IPA’s. I believe it is the use of the malt. No bitterness in the finish at all and malt does well to balances the hops. I really like the extra malt in this beer. I wish I could buy this in New England but I am very glad I got to try this. Ranks high in my IPA’s. Thanks Craig!

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of hops, flowwrs, malt, and a bit of alcohol. The aroma has notes of sweet with strong notes hops, and medium notes of fruit, malt, caramel, and alcohol, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a huge, creamy and off-white head. Aroma is dry pinewood and grapefruity. Dry pinewood hoppy, bitter, mild caramelish sweet malt base and slight fruity. Sweet, fruity and bitter to bone dry finish.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright orange-amber color with a huge soapy orange-beige head that produced good lacing. The aroma was sweetish, butter, sour and nutty with a fairly strong pine element. The flavor was tangy and bitter with moderate pine and light floral hops. There were light undertones of caramel and nut. The finish was long, sweetish, tangy and hoppy. Thick and syrupy body. Solid.
