0.33 l bottle from ’Bierhalle Deconinck’, best before March 2018. Gusher! Slightly hazy, dark reddish brown with a massive, foamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish, malty, very smoky and slightly herbal-spicy aroma of caramel, lots of smoked ham, campfire and a touch of licorice root and seaweed. Quite sweet, malty, very smoky and a bit herbal-spicy taste of caramel, toasted nuts, lots of smoked ham, peat, seaweed and some licorice root, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, rather smoky and a bit peaty finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. A bit weird, but definitely tasty and saturating.

Bruin bier zonder schuim. Smaak is erg rookig en ietwat bitterzoet met sporen van chocolade en caramel. Omdat de rook iets te veel overheerst een lagere rating gegeven.

Bottle from De Hopduvel. Dark brown, Thin beige head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, fruity with smoky finish. Bacon, barbecue sauce. I like this, well balanced, sweet, salty, smoky. Nice!

04/06/2016 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte. Amber coloured with small fizzy head that dissapears quickly. Nose is smoke, meaty, herbs. Taste is first smokey, meaty, malts, herbs, dry hops ending. Oops they did it again. Nuce fizzy oily mouthfeel. Fucking brilliant.

Hazy brown color with white head. Aroma is smoky ham. Taste is smoky ham,with a weird fruity flavour and some wet dog. Not excellent.

Sampled at Zythos 2016. Thnx for sharing, everyone ! Pours rather clear, dark amberbrown. Small white head. Smell is smoked, taste is bitter, smokey. Bit fleshy as well.

Deutlich rauchiger Antrunk, mild würzig. Geringe Bitterkeit, die Rauchnoten werden trocken. Geringe Bitterkeit, pappig. 10/8/9/8//9

Bottle draft @ Zythos, thanks Klaas. De couleur ambrée, col fin beige restant crémeux. Arôme est superbement bien fumé, ne virant certainement pas dans l’excès avec une base autrement plus convaincante que sur le test batch initial. Retrouve un malté fumé bien en place avec un ajout thé qui ajoute encore à ce fumé tout en y conférant une pointe d’amertume en substitution d’un houblonnage plus conséquent. Palais est fort axé sur le fumé, donc attention si ce style ne convient pas. Le tout est léger et l’ajout fumé est perdurant approchant fortement des consœurs Bambergoises. Retrouve un petit biscuité et une certaine rondeur de bouche du malt Vienna. Pointe herbacée sur la fin. De loin la meilleure Rauchbier du Plat Pays.

From tap. Pours dark brown, golden with a small tan head. Aroma is smoked, herbal and dark malty, breadish and caramelish. Thick malty, meaty and roasted. Dry and malty smoked finish.
