To see the hop cone up close, we zoomed in microscopic, and found a hi-res view. In Hi-Resolution, the hop optic was magnified; our perception, fully amplified. It’s microscopic. It’s telescopic. It’s off-topic. It’s Mad Science.
Let’s talk optics. The study of light, and the eyeball… aka the prism that sends images blasting through your dome like a movie projector. As technology advances, resolution increases, so we can see the bigger picture AND the finer details. We’re increasing the view -- in BOTH directions… Magnify the hop factor, amplify perception. With massive amounts of late-addition, new-age hops, HI-RES magnifies juicy hop character to the limits of human perception, testing your palate’s ability to comprehend the tiny particles in hops, and the insane flavors they produce.

On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a cloudy orange with small frothy off white head. The aroma is pine hop, resin, and hemp. Medium mouthfeel with strong bitter hop and pine with nice lingering bitter finish hiding alcohol well. Very good

Can: Cloudy amber with a frothy tan head. Spruce/pine aroma. Nectary tangerine, orange malt, tropical flavours. A real fruit-a-ganza..... Warming, smooth alcohol... This is a really nice one....smoothly done.

Aroma: The aroma is resiny hops, some pine, a little citrus, and a little rubbing alcohol
Appearance: It pours a clear orange color with a frothy off-white head and plenty of lace
Flavor: The flavor is much the same, big and resiny, with a mild sweetness, and a touch of booze
Palate: The body is medium, it is smooth and clean feel, and hides the alcohol okay
Overall Impression: It's close. I think if they had kept this to a 9 or 10% DIPA it may have been better, but I just get a little bit of rubbing alcohol, and I think that's the small flaw I find here. Overall though, I really enjoyed the beer.

Can poured into a Belgian snifter. Pours a golden orange/yellow with half a finger off-white head. Aromas of big tropical fruit including pineapple and melons, citrus, light floral notes. Tasting notes of tropical and citrus fruits, booze, resin, hop oils, floral hops. Medium body, oily mouthfeel with a pretty warm finish. Bit more booze than I usually like for the style.

Can on Saturday night. Pours reddish orange with soapy head and nice lacing. Great nose of tropical fruits. Tastes of mangoes, pineapple, pine, molasses, malt, and rock candy. Not too sticky and while sweet not cloying. Alcohol is present but not too harsh for abv. Pretty enjoyable

Sample at the Ale Wine & Spirits beer tasting on 01/24/2014. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, pine and malt. Full-bodied and somewhat chewy with flavors of resiny hops, grainy malt and citrus. The finish is hoppy up front with a malty aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Pours deep gold into a snifter. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Tropical fruit and hot caramel aromas. Hot sweet pineapple and mango upfront turning to musky apricot before the lasting bitter resin finish.
