Updated rating (from taster pour at Powder Keg Beer and Chili Festival) can pour into shaker pint glass from Andover Classic Wines. Appearance is hazy dark orange with some floaties, tons of sparkle, 2-finger-width off-white head with good retention and tons of soapy lacing. Aroma is citrus, candied sugar and caramel malty backdrop. Taste is fruit, bready malts, hint of pine. Palate is medium bodied with smooth, thin, frothy texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, not as complex as advertised and more malty than your average IPA.

Can from Total Wine, Tampa.

Hazy orange-copper color with small white head and nice lacing. Aroma and taste are grapefruit, citrus, pines, light caramel. Nice toasty malt body with a good residual sweetness. Benchmark IPA I’d say, impressive for a Single Hop one! (the barkeeper told me it’s single)

Very good IPA. Pours a clear gold-copper, with smallish head. Strong aroma of hops, citrus. Very bitter flavor, pronounced hops, lots of citrus, with pine and grass. Crisp, clean mouthfeel with bitter finish.

Lucky that one bottle in the outdated sixer I got wasn’t completely ruined. Enough I could get the resiny grapefruit nose, the fruity-citrus hop flavors and rounded honey-sweet caramel presence. While I’d still like to have a fresh one, I feel comfortable rating this when comparing my notes to others.
