Bottle 0,25ltr: Hazy yellow thirstquenching Belgian Witbier, but this one is rather dull.

Mater Witbier syas the label. Sweetish, citric and somewhat herbal. Chalky. Lacks depth, but has refreshing qualities.

Bottled, as Roman Mater, courtesy of and shared with heavy. Murky golden body, small white head. Aroma... Coriander, apple, doughy, phenolic touches. Perfumey. Prickly, huge coriande, bit citric, dry, slightly tart, slightly lactic. Tasty light wit.

Tap. Cloudy orange, huge white head. Nice esters on nose. Banana. Citrus. Spice. Light to medium body. Medium dry taste. Very fruity. Delicious. Perfect sample of the style.

Bottled 250ml. -from www.beershop.hr Hazy yellow coloured, medium sized white head, pure coriander in the nose. Again strong coriander, slightly fruity and notes of vegetables with touch of spices in the finish. Bit one-dimensional but ok.

Hazy golden blonde coloured body with a smallish, single centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of corn, grain, light yeast, bread, coriander seed and a bit of funky stale sugar. Medium-bodied; Assertive funky, bready, yeastie, corn-y and stale malt dominate this one with a very overtly funky flavour that doesn’t show spice, but does show an odd malt element and little else - some light sugars and a bit of yeast, but that’s it. Aftertaste shows more of the same with some light coriander seed and perhaps a bit of curacao or full oranges, but nothing great. Overall, a pretty bad beer that doesn’t show well and has very funky flavours. Sadly, that said - I’m glad I sampled this and will never have it again, but i’m not happy that I carted this thing across the Atlantic when much better options were easily found, but I am happy that it was just a 25cL bottle. I sampled this 25 cL bottle purchased from Beer Mania in Bruxelles, Belgium on 19-August-2013 for €1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 14-September-2016 after lugging this thing across the pond.

250 ml. bottle @ Bahnhove. BBF 24.01.2014. Bright hazy cartoonish golden, fluffy solid white head. Nose is fluffy citrus, soap, very artificial soapy sweet bubblegum bread & sugar, artificial wheat. Taste is big soap, soapy peach, artificial sweet, bubblegum, sugar, candy, chemical, bit fizzy. Very big soap taste, very artificial sweet sugar, peach, bubblegum, artificial soft drink, chemical & soap qualities start to bother quite quickly. Meh, I expected worse, it wasn’t as bad as I feared but I would call it quite good either.

18/03/2016 - from bottle @ De Cubus, Oudenaarde. Clear yellow beer (more a pilsner like colour) with small white head. Grainy, some yeast, not a lot of spices remarkable, easy drinking, thin. Not great. Thought this was beter years ago.
