This is the kind of beer that gives the word "stout" a reputation. Extra generous quantities of barley malt, followed by vigorous fermentation leaves this "imperial" heavy weight with 8% alcohol A.B.V. and a body as full as chocolate bread pudding. A complimentary and complex array of bitter notes comes form potent American hops, earthy British hops, black-roasted malts and, of course, coffee. Santa Fe Brewing Company uses only top-quality ingredients like organically grown East Timor coffee beans blended with New Guinea coffee beans, locally roasted by O’hori’s Coffee House. Its heavenly flavor and aroma can’t be beat or imitated.

12 oz. can brought back from Willrunforbeer’s recent Vegas trip. Aroma is really nice bold and lingering espresso bean ( like standing next to a coffee grinder ) mild hints of chocolate.
The flavor is long lingering coffee beans. Earthy flavor with a good medium to full body of roast. The coffee lingers on and on but does have a slight vegetal hint but still awfully good. The texture is smooth and creamy with a soft carbonation.

Can. Pours opaque black with a medium creamy brown head that dissipates fairly quickly with good lacing. Aroma is coffee coffee grounds, roasted malts, a bit of ashtray. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, tons and tons of coffee. Medium body, some acidity.

Can shared by Pinkzambia nearly black light tan head. Plenty of coffee in the aroma and a nice spicy sweet roastiness. Some simar character of their "cigarette porter" nice sharp roast flavors with some sweetness as well. Fairly dry finish

Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a black color with a small foamy tan head that faded and left decent lacing. The aroma was strong ground coffee and a bit of roasty malts. The flavor was strong ground coffee, vanilla, marshmallow with sweet toasty malts. Very long finish. Thick and creamy body. Very nice.

Can. A- Black coffee, roasty. A- Black color, black liquid, tan head. T- Strong black coffee, cocoa, roasted, malty, slightly bitter, alcohol. P- Full body, average texture, soft carbonation, roasty finish. O- If you like coffee, this is your beer. The aroma smells like a fresh cup of joe, and the color the same. It’s really a thing of beauty. The taste is straight coffee, although you can detect the alcohol a little bit as well as a lingering bitterness that I am not particularly a fan of but at the same time doesn’t make this beer any less of a great brew. I was expecting a decent beer, but this turned out to be a surprisingly great beer.

Purchased in six pack form at Spec’s in Austin, TX; enjoyed after a great day gallivanting around the city. Appearance is a rich, thick black with a nice tan head that curdles ala Guinness, pretty cool to see. Aroma is huge on the bitter coffee notes, with notes of oatmeal, chocolate malt, very subtle lactose. Taste goes down lightly bitter, rich in chocolate and coffee, very thick, definite dessert brew. I’m really enjoying this one, nothing too overpowering but still potent.

Thanks to StefanSD for this can! Roasted coffee-nose, slightly malty. The beer starts roasted-intense, Espresso, dark roasted malt. But still easy to drink. The aftertaste is long, coffee-intense, malty. Nicely bitter in the aftertaste, round and balanced.

12 oz can. Pours black with full head. Aromas of freshly ground coffee (acidic), licorice, and roasted malts. Flavors are similar with extended flavours of oily fresh pressed black coffee. Very nice but a bit of coffee overkill limits where/when to use.
