Fruity and spicy brown ale with caramelized notes. Brown Ale with an aromatic fruity bouquet that includes notes of caramel, brewed with cinnamon cloves and plums. A blast of wheat, caramel, spicy and fruity notes.

Brown color, small white head. Bready, malty, spicy yeasts, tart. Very typical BFM I?d say. Birnbrot, yes. Malty, spicy taste, mild bitterness, the tartness is always present, but not overpowering. Lots of bready malts, nice fruity tartness. Nice carbonation, refreshing for its darkness. Good, I like it!

On tap at Marciero. 7.5% A fruity & spicy brown ale from Switzerland. Served in a fluted glass(800 yen) a dark ruby brown pour with just a wisp of a beige film. Med-thin bodied with a smooth satisfying mouthfeel. The aroma is a bit tart, malty fudge & light cinnamon. It’s got a rich malty smooth body with some figs, milk chocolate, some cinnamon and a slight tart edge. Very very nice, easy drinking beer! As it warms up it keeps getting better & better giving me some breadiness plus a deeper fudge like chocolate. I am digging this quite a bit.

Tap at Marciero. Dark brown with some orange, lace. Spicy chocolate nose, caramel. Rich chocolate malt flavor, caramel, stone fruit, cinnamon and other spices. Good chewy malt, though rather light in body. Good.

Sehr interessantes Bier!! 12/13/12/12

Pours slightly hazy reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, plums, cinnamon and dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long plum, dried fruity and cinnamon finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

330ml swing-top bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes, Tromsø. Fair, fawn-coloured head with satisfying retention to an unclear, dark-brown coloured body. Fragile lacing. Aromas of wood and roasted caramel malts. Rather comprehensive taste character of dark plums, herbs, dark honey, and caramel offset by a roasted bittersweet finish. Fine bodied. Likable (at home 08.06.2014).

Bottle from AndrewC who picked this up in or near Verbier and I drank at home. Very dark brown colour lasting beige head. Some esters on aroma, some dark brown malty aroma. Quite fruity in the mouth, like plums and figs. Decent Belgian Ale. Pretty authentic. Nice enough. Some peppery hop on the finish. OK.
