A bold IPA in the modern, West Coast style, but with plenty of malt character from our robust Maris Otter. Generous quantities of Columbus and Cascade hops give this bitter beer resinous, piney, and citrus-like flavors while a bit of Czech Saaz hops adds a touch of spice.
Malts: floor-malted Maris Otter,
caramalt, wheat; flaked barley, malted rye
Hops: Columbus; Cascade; Saaz, dry-hopped with Cascade
Food Pairings: assertive, spicy foods, grilled salmon & shrimp, pizza.

Draft sample from the source, lightly hazy gold with nice suds of bubbly head retention. Aroma is a nice medley of citrus and floral hops. Solid lingering floral bitterness with a touch of pine. Finely made IPA!

On tap @ the brewery during San Francisco 7/7/14 beer tour. Pours a golden orange appearance with an off white head. Spicy, bitter, piney hoppy nose. No diacetyl offered! Sheesh. Some grapefruit. Medium body. Balanced bitterness/sweetness. A bit of tropical fruits. Pretty clean but itβs not that interesting.

On tap at Magnolia, pours a hazy golden orange with a medium off-white head. Aroma brings out lots of tropical fruits and some caramel undertones. Flavour is more syrupy than I like an IPA, with notes of woody hops, floral notes, and syrupy caramel. Too much residual sweetness for my liking, making it difficult to drink. Not very good.

On tap at the Pub, August 2013. Dark orange with a small white head. Fresh and refreshing with hops, fruit and some light notes of malt. The mouthfeel was quite thick and the finish was really bitter. A tasty IPA.

Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Deep golden color with a medium white head and stringy lacing. Aroma of pine, hops and citrus. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, malt and zesty citrus. The finish is moderately bitter with a hoppy aftertaste. Above average overall.

Cask. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, spicy hops, and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of grass and grapefruits, as well as medium notes of malt and hops, leading to a dry and very bitter finish, where the grapefruit note lingers.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a small white head and a clear orange body. Aroma of fennel, citrus, coriander. Flavors are citrusy, coriander, tropical fruit (columbus). Lasting fruitiness with a dry finish and assertive carbonation. Nice.

On tap via cask at the brewpub. Pours nice deep clear gold with almost bright white lasting head. The aroma is sweet, citrus grapefruit and then becoming a bit lemon like acidity with a faint note of caramel in the background. The aroma is light but very inviting. The taste starts with an initial pulse of citrus hop flavor and then into citrus hop bitterness and a bit of hop resin. It gets increasingly bitter and resiny toward the finish. It seems to end dry, refreshing and with fading hop resin bitterness. Darn tasty IPA.
