Imperial Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels
With Bruery culture comes tradition, and Black Tuesday Reserve is back for another delectably rare release. Brewed in 2018, this iteration of our iconic imperial stout was aged in two separate sets of hand-chosen bourbon barrels for two consecutive years, emerging a uniquely-developed and sophisticatedly bold stout worthy of the classification ‘Reserve.’

Keg at BD Castlegate. It pours oily jet black with minimal head. The aroma is oily, super dark roast, umami, burnt toast, touch of marmite, lovely praline vibes, toffee, bourbon soaked oak, dark chocolate, mars bar, sticky and warming booze. The taste is slick, oily, full in the mouth, slick, super dark roasted malt, charred oak, burnt toast, fudgey, toffee, bourbon soaked oak, fruit cake, vanilla, touch umami, cacao nibs, coffee, praline, plenty of warming booze and bourbon fudge. Full body, slick and fine carbonation. Rich and indulgent. Fun stuff.

Draught @ Kultainen Apina Aroma has alcohol, very heavy roasted makt, dark chocolate and cocoa. Also liquor. Flavour has liquor, woody tones, bourbon, vanilla and sharp-ish alcohol. Good slow sipper, alcohol is abit too stingy though.

Poured from a 750 ml 2015 vintage bottle. Aroma is full of chocolate, roast notes, caramel, toffee and lighter leather, tobacco and dark fruit notes. Moderate alcohol notes with light barrel and bourbon notes. Pours jet black with a small, thick, creamy dark tan head that recedes quickly to a small film that lingers on the edges. No lacing and very sheets of alcohol. Flavor is rather sweet with loads of chocolate and roast notes. Lighter notes of toffee, caramel, tobacco, leather and hints of dark fruits. Fairly strong alcohol notes with moderate bitterness. Hints of barrel. Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and moderate alcohol warmth. Overall, a fun beer. Lots of malt notes with a quite a bit of alcohol. Alcohol is decently hidden but very prevalent; I'm very drunk
